Reunited
Forgotten tears flow once again. As they cascade down my crevices That have formed throughout my years.
I sit positioned, facing out of the window. I see the rain fall. It splashes against the already formed puddles. A mixture of earth and water create a wonderful colour of brown. As, I see the little ducklings waddle through Trying to escape the rain.
The clouds are thick, and paste the skies with grey. Just like the hair on my head.
I manage to smile through my tears, As I see a little child and his mother skipping into little lakes. I forget about my troubles, as my fingertips caress the glass. Little drops of water drift slowly down, Making clear tracks.
I look back at the cuckoo clock, now chiming. It's 5 o'clock. I go to the kitchen to make a cup of tea. As I enter, I stumble. I fall to my knees. Gradually, I steady myself back up. I head for my bed instead. I tuck myself in my bed. Gently I fall asleep, as the rain washes the country.
I'm a lonely old woman, dying. Tonight I shall fade, but I'll be happy once again. My husband and I, reunited.
